G.E.T. Trade
Demystifying International Trade
Promoting Growth for Your Business
EDC-VC developed the Global Entrepreneur Training in Trade Program to help Ventura County businesses that are poised for success in the Pacific Rim learn how to access global trade opportunities.
The program includes classroom instruction, one-on-one specialized consulting and a private tour of the Port of Hueneme to help businesses develop core international business skills. These skills consist of international documentation, pricing, costing, research skills, payment methods and import/export compliance.

G.E.T. Trade is designed for successful business owners and managers who have been in business at least three years and who want to expand into international markets.
OUR GOAL
Our goal is to improve Ventura County’s economic competitiveness by promoting business growth through improved access to global markets and international trade.
IMPLEMENTATION
The program employs a networking of resources and a training curriculum designed to connect local businesses with global markets. It utilizes intensive consulting and business plan development.
OBJECTIVES
To increase business profit and job creation through import/export trade, to expand regional awareness through international trade opportunities, and to improve economic sustainability.
OUR VISION
To promote and establish Ventura County as a nationally recognized innovator in global trade.

"The G.E.T. Trade program exceeded my high expectations by opening doors for my business and helping me avoid any potential pitfalls. Through the class, I connected with high-quality overseas vendors who helped me expand my store’s offerings and increase my profit margin. I made my first overseas trade four weeks into the 12-week class and am still going strong."
