EDC-VC's 17th Annual Meeting is scheduled for January 16, 2014.
With Ventura County's unemployment rate hovering around 7.8%, it's important that businesses have the resources they need to avoid more layoffs, to rebuild and gain a competitive advantage.
To that end, for the past 11 years, EDC-VC has partnered with the County of Ventura on business retention and layoff aversion services to help stabilize local businesses in decline so they can retain their workers. In recognition of the program's strong outcomes that benefit both businesses and the local economy, the County renewed our contact through June 30, 2014.

EDC-VC’s Small Business Development Center clients can now see how their financials compare to their local industry peers through a new, proprietary business tool called the Business Sustainability System Model. The Excel-based program helps eligible SBDC client companies identify strategies for long-term growth.
Started in 2006, Transonic Combustion in Camarillo develops next-generation fuel injection systems designed to improve efficiency and reduce emissions of internal combustion engines.
This technology is compatible with both spark ignited direct injection and compression ignition engines.
Gonzalo Fernandez, owner of small business financing advisory firm GBF Consulting, has joined the Economic Development Collaborative-Ventura County’s SBDC as an advisor. Fernandez will assist Small Business Development Center clients in the areas of analyzing and securing business loans, and strategic planning. Fernandez joins the approximately 30 advisors offering Ventura County companies no-cost general and specialized business assistance, including manufacturing, international trade, and government contracting and procurement.
John Haughey, B.S., is the CEO and managing partner of Brookstone Group Inc., a domestic and international company. John, who is conversational in Mandarin, has spent more than 28 years working and living in Asia, Europe and the United States. For the past nine years, he has lived in Beijing, China. He formed Brookstone International as a Foreign Invested Commercial Enterprise headquartered in Beijing. It focuses on reselling enterprise solutions used in data centers.
